What they Remember

Chateaubriand, 1809 by Anne-Louis Girodet de Roussy-Trioson, Musée d'Histoire et du Pays Malouin, St Malo.

An exhibition of the work of Girodet is currently touring the US. This fellow was an important French historical figure whose English chef would make him more famous than his exploits.

Regarding Tues. Feb 28th's entry ...

At first glance I thought this was Andrew Jackson (the hair and the clothes)!

I see they were of the same era, which would account for the clothes.

I love these stolen moments when I can catch up on the posts previous to my learning of your blog.
