Stonehenge, c.2950 BC, Salisbury Plain, England.
An ancient series of monoliths set in a circular pattern has enchanted and intrigued people for centuries because the original purpose has been lost - there are many theories that attempt to explain the site.

This is a great photo of the site. When I visited in 1980 the complex was roped off and visitors couldn't get close to it.
Furthermore, there were many other tourists around and it was hard to 'get a feel' for such an ancient site.
I wonder how much of our architecture will be around in a few thousand years.
Thats a nice photo. I drive past the stones everyday on the way to work.
Nice to see them from the air.
