Kindred Spirits

The Flatiron, 1920 by Alfred Stieglitz, Museum of Fine Arts Boston.

Stieglitz and Georgia O'Keeffe were married in 1924. By this time his career as an innovative photographer had been established and hers as a painter, was beginning.

There is a great photography show at the Cleveland Museum of Art.

It IS easy to see a relationship, isn't it, in the way both Steiglitz and O'Keefe were interested in making edges come forward and recede through hardness and softness?

My two favorite photographers two days in a row! Thank you very much. Isn't it amazing to look at the work of someone and just recognize "wow, now that is a master."
