Peacock

La Libre Esthetique exhibition poster by Gisbert Combaz, Library of Congress

The Art Nouveau style was created as a reaction to the literal styles which dominated most of the 19th century. It is primarily a decorative style which utilizes sinuous shapes and naturalistic plant forms to create flowing movements.

Hi Martha, my name is Dana, I love this painting of the peacock. i live in a small town and i am making hand bags for extra money. i was wondering who had the copyrights on it. i looked up the laws and it said if i wanted to print this picture and iron it on to the bag i would have to get permission from the person who owned the copyright. would you happen to have any info on this. Thank you, Dana
